Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (UHBVNL), a Govt. of Haryana undertaking undertakes the Power Distribution and Retail Supply Business in the Northern Parts of Haryana. UHBVNL is registered under the Companies Act-1956 and has commenced its operations on dated July, 1999. UHBVNL inherited the distribution business of erstwhile Haryana state Electricity Board in pursuance to second transfer scheme notified by the Govt. of Haryana on July 1, 1999.

The following districts of the State of Haryana lie under the jurisdiction area of UHBVNL:
Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukhsetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat, Sonepat, Rohtak and Jhajjar.

The Business of UHBVNL is regulated by the Haryana Regulatory Commission (HERC). UHBVNL holds the license for Distribution and Retail Supply Business issued by HERC on dated 04.11.2004. The Power is procured through Haryana Power Purchase Center (HPPC), which is a joint forum of UHBVN & DHBVN. The Power is wheeled through the entire network through the State Transmission Utility (HVPNL) on the payment of transmissions charges approved by HERC. The Key Statistics are given below:-
